Bonafide: Fill your head with rock
03/03/11 || Love Lagerkvist
Bonafide’s “Fill your head with rock” is a mainstream rock (“rock” is used very lightly here) EP that includes a horrible single and a bunch of butchering covers. “Butchering” as in incredibly fucken “superbad”, that is. In fact, this abomination should be renamed to “Fill your head with cock”. Actually, that’s too nice, a better title would be “Fill your head with rotten farm animal cock imported from Malaysia”. And that’s still stretching it.
“But why is this?”, you might ask. Well, if you’d actually paid attention while reading the first section you would’ve noticed the words “mainstream rock”, “horrible single” and “incredibly fucken superbad”. Everything here is as generic and overdone as you can get. The vocals are of “that” kind, the guitars spit out things I’d barely call hooks and the rhythm section, don’t get me started… Sure, the production here is alright in a technical sense, but lacks of all traces of personality and enjoyability.
There is not really more to add here. This is what happens when you give tapeworms instruments and a record deal. The fact that they are from Sweden just makes things worse.
Kill me already.
